or they should not be forced to parent the nations children (and also should not be forced to work with dangerous kids because schools are terrified of lawsuits or losing funding by "leaving a child behind")
  • true.

and if these are the people teaching our children, then the jobs should be coveted and the teachers paid more than bankers. imho

Agreed on all counts- public school teachers make jack shit.

Nearly 10 percent of public-school teachers in NYC make more than $100,000 in salary alone.
  • and they should
  • New York's average state employee (there are 200,000 of them) makes fully $86,000 a year, counting pension and health benefits - a figure set to rise to $92,000 next year.~NYP

Yes, those that are qualified should, not those that are incompetent and protected by the teachers union.
  • Eggcream>I am totally looking for jobs for NY state government now...but I do not know if it is going to be like this for longer considering the economy...

The story is really interesting though...my view as follows 1) I would actually be upset if the person I have been dating 1 year did not prepare anything for valentine's day---present or card or anything to show that he cares; 2) But judging from the story the former girlfriend probably just acted really upset because she wanted to have a reason to brake up in a way that he was the one to blame ( though she sounds kind of materialistic too); 3) that makes me think that she was not very genuine person I would like to be friend with 4) how can a person married for 2 years do not know what the partner is doing during the day? I would assume she never even pay attention that she had never even seen a tax form/insurance/notice or anything, nor she have visited where he works, nor he introduced her to his co-workers...; 5) it is great that Flux is now happy with great wife, kids and house; 6) though I think a happy person does not need to feel that he have to prove his luckeyness/happynes by looking at somebody's unfortunate situation; 7) I am not saying that what necessarily what Flux is intended to do...it sounded like it a bit and I wonder why. Meybe beause he was too hurt...
