Car stolen/towed 8th Ave and 10th street by SoulShine ????

I have seen other threads with similar issue... but though I would post just in case someone has seen something useful. My husband parked on 8th Ave and 10th street to the left of SoulShine Wellness is a small 2 car garage, he inadvertently blocked the entrance. This was Thursday evening... Saturday morning the car was gone. I understand if it was towed but NYPD has no record, and neither did the Navy Yard Lot. They say to report it stolen... but that seems fishy If it was towed by a private company and not reported, how do we locate it? Any help would be much appreciated. It is a light green Ford Focus 2003.

Maybe start by asking the owner of the garage he was blocking if he had it towed and if so asking for the company's name. If no luck there, then report it stolen.

The reason I say to do that is because the city sometimes doesn't record car tows/relocates properly. My car was "relocated" once for some non-alternate-side-related street closure, but I couldn't find its new location (and it wasn't on record as having been relocated). After being there for a few days it got a few tickets (I guess the new location wasn't entirely legal) and then was eventually towed to some private garage who I think has a contract with the city. The garage called me directly only because I reported it stolen; otherwise who knows how long it might have sat there as just an "abandoned" car.
