And Now That Mura is Open When is It Open? — Brooklynian

And Now That Mura is Open When is It Open?

The weather was not so terrible Sunday and we were on 5th Avenue for Brunch with a first choice of Mura. Well around 2pm it was closed. Has anyone eaten at Mura since it reopened and it is reopened isn't it? I just don't get why they would not be open on Sunday for lunch or brunch. Not everyone wants to have eggs and pancakes on Sunday. Sushi is a good choice.

P.S. We landed up in Bellville which had been off the list for a while but I suspect the place has changed owners or chef because the food was good. The hamburger was back to being hearty and well prepared and served on a hefty roll. The eggs were lovely and the coffee was decent. Oh and they have opened a "Lounge" on the side block and that sign said featured "Drag Queens" and "Burlesque." Does anyone know what is up with that?

  • I read recently that Belleville has changed both owner and chef...glad to know the food is back to being good! No idea what's up with the Drag Queens and Burlesque...I'd read that they were going for family-friendly, so that should be an interesting time!
  • The "lounge" has a separate entrance so no chance that Park Slope youngsters will be exposed to Drag Queens before they have reached the proper stage in their development.. whenever that is.
  • We had dinner at Mura a few nights ago. Very good although not exceptional but we like it - very friendly service and a nice environment for talking and relaxing while you eat. Also passed by Saturday afternoon and it seemed quite full of people (and this was before the dinner rush)
  • We ate at Mura early Saturday evening - it was very good as before.

Perhaps they arent open for lunch? that doesnt seem that unusual.
  • We hit up Mura on Saturday - we were one of many groups who told the servers how happy they were to see them back up and running. Mura has the BEST tuna sushi - the quality and the generosity of the piece cannot be beat in the slope. Always really sweet servers, too. I'm so glad they are open again!
  • just out of curiosity, does it look any different inside?
  • I thought it looked exactly the same as before.
  • I heard Belleville has a new owner and a new menu also.

Veets, please go to JPan next time you are on 5th avenue and want sushi or Japanese food, i promise you you will like it!
  • will do longtimesloper.
