Booker Prize-winner Peter Carey at Brooklyn Public Library

Looking for some smart fun in the nabe?

Peter Carey, Booker Prize winner and author of His Illegal Self, will appear at the Brooklyn Public Library on Saturday March 7 at 4pm. The event is part of the “Cosmopolis: Immigrant Writers in New York” series, which features WNYC host Leonard Lopate in conversation with three authors through the spring.

Set during the U.S. protest movements of the 60’s and ‘70s, Peter Carey’s portrait of “the relationship between one benighted woman and the child who depends on her is exquisite,” said the New York Times. His Illegal Self is available in hardcover from Alfred A. Knopf.

This event is free and open to the public. No tickets necessary. It will take place at the Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Center for Contemporary Culture, located at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Library, at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn (#2 or #3 train to Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum).
