heavy duty cleaning service?

has anyone used a good heavy duty apartment cleaning service in the area?

i have a roach problem in my very old rental that probably hasn't been properly scrubbed in about 20 years. i'm terrified of the roaches so i avoid anything like moving appliances because i know i'd at least see the dead ones. ewww.

so, i need more than the typical "maid service"...not squeamish and willing to clean under appliances, on top of/inside cabinets, baseboards, etc...for a one-time intensive cleaning.

i'm obviously also having the building's exterminator treat the apartment, but i really feel like i need a fresh start in terms of cleanliness, since way too many people have inhabited this space before me.

aww thanks for the offer. i'm willing to pay a good amount since it's only a one-time deal, and this really is a rather disgusting job. i think i'd prefer to use a professional service, but i'll keep you in mind!

i ended up hiring miracle maids (based in park slope) to do the job this coming friday. they're definitely pricey, but seemed to know what they're doing and asked me a ton of questions about which areas/things i do/don't want cleaned. fingers crossed!

just wanted to update and say that miracle maids did an AWESOME job. two people came by...one was just a normal run-of-the-mill cleaning lady, but the other one, julio, pretty much saved my sanity. in addition to generally cleaning everything really well, he cleaned under the stove and fridge and did all the baseboards and moldings, and gave me tips on fixing up the kitchen and my wood floors...all of which will contribute to preventing more roaches, and thus further save my sanity.

anyway, i know that there's a bad review or two somewhere on here, so i wanted to put in one good report, since they're a neighborhood business and i did have a great experience. i guess it depends on who gets assigned to your job.
