In case anyone cares, Sakua on 5th ave between 6-7th (I think?) is now Kappa Sake House. This might have happened a while ago, just noticed when I walked by.

Yeah. Apparently, not too long ago. I actually ate there recently. The food is quite good especially the Hako Sushi and homemade Gyoza dumplings with a lot of really good sake and beer. Not the standard bad sushi/sashimi from mostly chinese/korean joints, but very good authentic japanese homestyle food and sushi. One of few(4 or 5) real japanese bar/restaurant in brooklyn. The staff all speak japanese and all from Tokyo. Remind me a lot of places I ate in Tokyo. I had a few great beers that I didn't even try in japan like Echigo and Ginga Kogen. They even show some really good and some really bad japanese movies which are great!
  • Sounds amazing. I should check it out
