Catering? In PS and other nearby nabes?

I need catering for a very large event. It would be the full deal, food and set up delivered to a auditorium.

any ideas? We're thinking finger foods, appetizers, wine, beer.

I went there once and the service was so bad I never went back. I would read comments online (Yelp, etc.) before hiring them.

I was there for lunch yesterday. The waitress tried valiantly, but the service was not quick. I imagine the fact that the front room was packed for a rugby game may have slowed down both the kitchen and the wait staff.

Yeah, agreed . . . it can be a slack kind of place, but usually in an agreeable kind of way. "So bad I'll never go back" sounded outsized harsh to me, but to each their own.

Fairway? I know I've been to parties catered by Dean and Deluca that had fantastic food, but I'm thinking Fairway might be more appropriate for a larger event and for budgets.

Fairway does a really nice catering job. If you're looking for something at the next level, try Zest Caterers, 646-765-6259. She's a great chef with oodles of experience with a top food magazine handling big and small functions, and she's a lovely person. (and full disclosure, she's my friend.)

We used this place on PPW for our wedding and the food was amazing. They're called "A Movable Feast". They did a really nice tasting for us and were super easy to work with. Maybe a little pricey but it was our wedding so the prices were appropriate for that.
