    CRISPY CROWNS!
Hah, sorry. I always get the name wrong.
  • scarlett wrote: Dude - how hard could it be Mougar? WTF figure it out. Slap some crap into a pan, throw on a few gallons of cheese and jalapenises, and you're golden.
I'll just experiment a little and eat my mistakes ;-)

Scarlett, remember Voodoo is planing a Smith Street pub crawl too
Tequila turns me into an evil horny bitch. Bring it on!

While I won't be at the MEXeaster very long, my guest and I will bring some leftover vodka from my Sweet 16 (well, assuming I don't drink it all before then)
  • Oh yeah! I forgot to add that the PM I sent you mougar. Also add diced pickled jalapenos!

Right. Well, since my parents were raised in a "Mobile Home park," I might have some suggestions. I recommend toasting the crowns first so they are crisp, before adding the wet stuff.

Also available in the first aisle at Key Food/5th.
  • I could use jalapenos, but wouldn't everyone rather habaneros?
  • Oh and my salsa goes great with Tots, so there will be a dual purpose!
We could add Sour Cream too.....

    Mummm habaneros!
  • I'll leave it up to Mama and Moug to figure out the totcho adventure haha

I'l still seriously considering dino shaped chicken nuggets. Or maybe fishsticks... mmm fishsticks
  • Whatever is in them, it's probably best if I do it on site. Melty goodness tends not to transport well.

I wonder if these would be better with a little bacon?
  • thats fine moug, we can cook them here. my oven, though small, does work!
  • So is that a yes on the guest?

Don't know what I'm bringing yet. Possibly Deviled ScarHo eggs. I mean seriously, she shouldn't procreate but I don't want her eggs to go to waste.
  • ^^^LOL!! Mumm deviled eggs are delish!
  • I would support deviled eggs

 I told you last night I am dead inside. There are no eggs worth using. Better get the cheap ass kind from the deli that are expired.
  • Mamacita wrote: MeredithB, will you come with your harem of woman like at the Slope pub crawl  :P
I wish I still had that harem. Jeez. But yeah, another pub crawl ASAP! (or when the weather gets warmer)

You are all welcome to my eggs, of course they are probably pickled.
  • Dearest Carmen and fellow brooklynians,

Whynot, Mrs. Whynot, and Dude are incredibly grateful for your recent invitation to:

    1. Enjoy Nacho Taters.
    2. Enjoy "man making" party favors courtesy of a human hampster.
    3. Make relentless fun of Mougar, even though he is good guy.
    4. Admire a certain poster's Alabaster Orbs of Joy.
    5. Wonder what Mama's pickled eggs would produce.
    6. And generally provoke God to strike us with lightening on one of the most sacred christian holidays.
    7. Combine incredible quantities of cheese and tequilla, perhaps to ill effect.

But, alas, we have chosen to replicate such holiday activities as accurately as we can while united as a family in the Catskills.

We hope you understand, and wish you the best.

    Sincerely,

    The whynots.
  • What time of day is this happening? It's been long time since I've been to one of this Brooklynian gatherings.
  • Ooo if you're going, I would like to meet you, but will only be stopping in so let's coordinate!
  • This is from 3pm-till (not too late, i have to work Monday) on Sunday. I imagine some people will come early to start cooking, we'll be here from 1:30-onward
  • If you'd like to come let me know and I'll send you my address! (and get your name so we're not TOTAL strangers) Full disclosure that my non brooklynian friends will be there also (about 6 or 7 people) but they're all awesome!
  • Rave: Tasty tasty muffins! Also, I can't believe how awesome gypsy bacon is and that I've never had it before.

Rant: Not allowed to have open flame grill, so the gypsy bacon can't live up to it's full potential. Maybe the broiler . . .
  • Wrong thread, are you 5 margs in? hmmm ;)
  • I NEED SOMEONE TO VOLUNTEER TO BRING A CAMERA!

mine sucks and is half-broken, someone needs to bring a camera to photograph this amazing spread of food we're having!
  • No margs yet, but I may be going blind from the special gypsy spices.
  • I have a camera to bring.

So Carmen, what are your "6 to 7" friends bringing?????
  • we'll bring a camera.
  • two are manning ice since they're a strapping young pair and I didnt feel bad asking them to carry it, one is bringing chinese foods of some sort (Cho, who you've met Mama during skrimp and grits night) and one is making a "dessert that is mexican because the box has spanish instructions"(??) and one is bringing quac i think.
