Royal Video Exchange

ive never been in this place, but their signage speaks of another era... wonder how it compares to video edge?

wait, where is it?

Flatbush @ 6th, technically, but if one gets to Flatbush and Bergen and cant find it, they can feel free to call me and i'll personally come down and call them an idiot.
-
I've browsed through but never rented. Their selection seemed fine.

ahh, yeah. there are good things in that direction, I just rarely find myself there. I mean, I am the person trying to 'motivate' and walk over to visit the crown heights dressmaker whose window I covet whenever I ride by in a car. getting me that far down flatbush would require installing a handbag store or an ethiopian restaurant.
alafairnadia = too insular, by far. -

you just need to get a skateboard- its all down hill from your place

Video Edge is much better than this place. Royal's selection, IMO, is pretty bad. I think that they will eventually join the ranks of "priced out" casualties.

I'm too chicken for that.
but. um. why did I say ethiopian restaurant?! anyone want ethiopian food tonight? I'm suddenly dying fur nurf bread and lentils ... -

If you don't go down there, you deny yourself of O'Connors, which is just plain criminal.
-
Royal Video is a "guys" video store. Meaning it is full of king fu flicks, video games and a very well stocked adult section. If you go there on a Monday morning you'll find unemployed, compulsive masturbators stacking up like ten movies for the day...

oh well. I'll await my citation at soda, sepia, mooney's or indigo.

HA!
I should make fake tickets and give them to people for hanging out at lame bars. -

before we get into a bar debate, I wasnt dissing your choices. I've been to two of em and they were okay enough. I just thought the citation idea was funny.
NOW, yes O'Connors only has bottled beer. It doesnt bother me one bit. I'd drink draft, sure, but it's not killing me to rip a bottle. PLUS, I get to hang out at the best bar this side of the Mason/Dixon while i'm doing it! Hoorah! -

good lord! what's your choice on the other side of the m/d?

plus, oconnors is CHEAP. like, last time i was there, for less than $10, i had enough shots/beer to be suitably trashed. my bar tab for the same effect in any vanderbilt ave bar would be closer to $40. hahahaha

btw, i love the tangent this thread has taken. lol. -

it is the same tangent my life has taken!
my favorite bar anywhere on the planet is Rudyard's Pub in Houston TX. It is, in a word, perfect. -
p.s. for reference a G&T at O'Connors should run you about $3, maybe $4 depending on yr Gin.

oh. that's about what it costs me on vandy.
