  • OMG I fucking failed again. I suck. I have to take it again next Friday and I simply must pass. I don't know what to do. I'm going to go cry now.

wow sweetie im sorry :( Whats the passing grade?
  • 67...not that high, but they reconstructed the test and now even the tech guys are failing it. the wording is super tricky. plus, i was in full panic mode at the testing center. and it was noisy so they gave me these big ass headsets and all i could hear was my heart thumping. i almost walked out in the middle.

Ugh, that totally totally sucks. :(

Is there anyone you know that has passed the test that you could pay to tutor you? Might be completely worth it....
  • my friend was tutoring me tonight and is going to tutor me in vegas. she won't let me pay her.......she rocks.

i have to tell my boss and i don't want to.

Actually, tutoring in Vegas was my next suggestion. :D
  • Flexi-I totally feel for you...I work in education and every time I move to a new state (which has happened several times over the last few years until hubby got a semi-permanent job here) I have to take a whole new series of tests because apparently being a teacher in one state does not mean I am qualified to do so in another state. Rant over.
What I really wanted to say was that I am not exactly tech. savy, but I am finishing up my Grad. school degree in Education, I'm a tutor, and I am extremely good at interpreting unnecessarily difficult statements and figuring out how to answer them...I think it must have something to do with the combination of my undergrad degree in English and the 20 or so standardized tests I have been forced to take.
I also know some proven methods that can be used to calm oneself down before a big event (in this case a big important test).
I have kept my identity complete secret for long enough on this board...I would be more than happy to meet up with you and see if I can help you in any way. Based on the way you are describing the test (and your problem with it), I think that I might be able to help. This may seem a little random, but I understand the pressure associated with being forced to pass a test on a timeline and I would be happy to try to help...especially since you were one of my biggest supporters during my argument with Time Warner when I first moved to the area which seems like forever ago.
Please feel free to get in touch if you think I could help in any way. Or even if you just need someone to meet up with for a relaxing drink
  • aw...thanks, Littlegal....i have to travel today/tomorrow, so maybe i'll ping you over the weekend..

i told my boss last night and she sounded understanding, but of course she passed the test herself (back when it was easier). when i told her i failed i also told her that i had a plan with 2 really smart women i work with to be my study buddies (they promised to just sit me down until i knew it fowards and back)
  • No problem Flexi. Open invitation if you want some outside help. Enjoy your time out of town...I wish I was getting out of here for even a little while!
