effing cop helicopter
was anyone in the crow hill area annoyed or made to feel like the 'hood was under siege today late afternoon via an extremely low flying police helicopter? it seemed to circuit Park Place and Prospect Place between Franklin and Bedford, eventually fading away to larger radii. then, finally, the thing was gone.
anyone know what it involved? any fugitives on the loose?
hope it was something important 'cause i was trying to effing write/pitch stories and all of the sudden it was like Da Nang in '72.
my idea: if there's no police business, these choppers should not be flown. or, if they're commuting from crime scene to crime scene, or crime scene to base or whatever, they should be made to stick to a high altitude. what's the protocol with these things? how much gas (our money) do these things burn everyday?
if it was something dire, well, color me all blushed and ashamed. and it did seem rather specific. but, if not, cops are doing the opposite of boosting the quality of life... by buzzing quiet neighborhoods. yeesh.

the last time this happened someone threw a cinder block off a roof top on Franklin just south of e parkway, just missing a cop.

Probably had something to do with the commercial robbery that the 77 handled today.

Subject: thanks for the hypotheses, seemed weird
hopefully it was purposeful. -
the same thing happened a few weeks ago. it was at night, 10 or so?, and the helicopter circled in tighter circles over the same area as yesterday. i've lived here a few years and thought it was weird to see this occur in the same couple of weeks.

It missed the cop? I live the next block down from e parkway and heard that it'd hit him (even heard the gunshots from the police back at whoever had thrown it). -
Damn. There was a lot in that original post. A vietnam reference, blushing, buzzing helicopters and the yeesh. It's clearly a joke of some sort. Hhm.
