RoadRunner Internet - frequent lost connections?

Subject: Mine is working again, after 2 months

I'm on Garfield, between 8th and the park. I've had RR for nearly four flawless years, then...My problems started around mid-Jan. First it was OE outgoing email timing out. For the first month, I replaced my router, had TW here twice, replaced my modem, splitter, checked the outside wires. TW told me it was ...Boerum Hill was out and I was on the grid...I wasn't on the grid (where did I get that idea?) ...my modem was re-formatting itself...my downstream was high...my modem had been on for 15 days, 20 hours (huh?)...referred me, twice, to Norton...finally uninstalled Norton...called in a neighborhood troubleshooter who told me he had two other clients with the same problem and the only common thread was we all had RR.
Then, the email corrected itself around 5 weeks after it had begun (Feb. 20-ish) At almost the same moment, my web sites would time out (IE). I'd hit a link and it wouldn't open; then, a second later I'd hit it again and it would open. I was so bummed out after spending the previous weeks talking to help desks, that I ignored it for the first 10 days, hoping it would fix itself like the email had.
Then, last Monday night when it was raining and snowing, I had no connection at all and there was only one green light lit on the modem. We scheduled another service call but the next day I had connection again.
Then, Wednesday night, someone from TW called and said they'd repaired faulty equipment in my neighborhood!!
Ever since, it's been working perfectly.
By the way, they're giving refjnds for the period when you didn't have connection so make sure you call to get it.
I wish I'd found this thread two months ago.

Me too, all of a sudden I stopped getting the server can't be found errors.
