cat dog sitter/house sitter

Lots of people will be out of town that weekend. If you don't find someone on here, maybe you could post something at your vet's office. Another idea is to post at Brooklyn Law. Law students are usually reliable and usually way in (tuition) debt and might be able to use the extra cash. ;-)

The sitters/walkers listed in the link below are great. One walks my dog (he anxiously waits for and adores) and the other I see taking other dogs to off-leash. Both are definitely great with dogs and I would trust either to stay in my home with my pets.

(I'm not associated with any of these folks other than one started walking my dog recently and I see them in the park daily.) -
Thanks for the suggestions everybody!

I have a wonderful dog walker who pet sits as well. You can reach her at [email protected].

My roommate and I have both house/dog sat for some of her student's families. We like apartments with jars of nuts for snacks and big doggies. PM me for a meeting.

I am also in need of a pet sitter...
What is the going rate these days for a sitter who sleeps in ones' home and walks the dog about 4x's daily? I used to pay my dogwalker $50/day for this service, but he is no longer doing overnight pet sits. -
I've seen around $65-85 per night for that, but not used such a service.
I think my dog is happier staying in his sitter's home than being here without us, fwiw. That way, he's not expecting my routine and just goes with the sitter's routine.
Meg on the Pumpkin Pups link above will do sleepovers I think and she's great with dogs. I often walk with her at off leash in the mornings, me with my dog and her with hers plus a few of her charges. -
^^ Thanks!
Any thoughts on Rachel Cohen? She's closer to us than Meg Blitz... -
Rachel walks my dog and he absolutely loves her, but I'm not sure if she does sleepovers. I wouldn't have an qualms about her staying in my home with my dog, and I'm pretty sure my dog would love it.

Oh, and if your dog happens to really like being with other dogs, Glencadia might be good. My dog likes just a couple of hours of play time with other dogs and then he wants to go home alone, so it's not for him. I do know some folks who send their dogs to this place and they are really happy with it. The owners do pick-ups in Park Slope.
I think it's kind of like a daycare but they get to spend a lot more time outside and it's not nearly as crowded and I think cheaper.

I have a difficult dog that is not good around other dogs. I also have a cat, so I really need a person to sleep in my home and take care of cat and dog together.
I have emailed Rachel. I will wait for her response before contacting her colleague, Meg. In the meantime, any other recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
