Painting my place - need ideas

ok, attached are pictures of our apartment right after we moved in and painted.

We now want to repaint. That red couch will be going the way of the dodo bird (might throw it on here for sale in the near future). So I guess the colors will depend on the color of the couch we get.

Lets say we get a chocolate brown or beige color.

Anyone have some good color combos to use on the walls (and an accent wall)?

We are trying to keep it bright in there because its such a sunny apartment. We dont want to gloom it down.

Pale green is a nice accent to an earth-toned couch. It will make the room feel bright on a sunny day as well.

I have a chocolate brown sofa - I painted my apt. a robin's egg blue. I think celedon would look kick ass with a brown sofa, too.

I know I'll get shit for this but the wall colors Martha Stuart has are pretty awesome, plus they have coordinating color-match cards with a picture of what the room looks like. Lowes carries it.

Second on the Celedon. I have Behr's "Soothing Celedon" in the bedrooms. Also a big fan of a avacado green accent wall with a lighter (maybe light dill) green color elsewhere.

Robin's egg blue is gorgeous, if you want that Tiffany bright blue color.

I love pale/light greens and yellows, with white or brown accents. That's what went up in our last place and it looked so much better than the white the landlord left it and the realtor showing the place (and a few others) took the left over paint for their places.

Yellow and pale greens can work as a neutral and go with lots of furniture, plus keep the room bright. I love deep, dark colors but not in these low light city apartments.

If you go to Sherwin Williams dot com they have a color visualizer where you actually can select a room, living, dining, bedroom , kitchen or bathroom similar in layout to yours and select different colors to see how it might look. It was really helpful and as you enter the site they have an arched wall similar to yours so it should really help you out.
