before i go around the nabe stealing branches from flowering trees (to decorate my table at the flea this weekend) does anyone have any they'd like to donate?

getting yelled at by strangers for cutting branches from city trees is not my idea of a good time. (flowers also welcome. i can pick up)

  • besides my yard? :)
  • What a jerk you are... cutting whole branches from people's trees without permission is not cool. Stop being a jerk... Go to the store and get yourself some flowers cheapo!

she is trying NOT to take them from strangers.. I suggest you get a sense of this board before you come here and start calling people out.
  • SJ... Potters post was clear that she had no intention of cutting branches from local trees. Suggestion.. Read carefully and think before your whip off your responses. That is a better way to make friends.

BP might have been joking, but she sounded like she had every intention of doing just that. She said it. Twice.
"stealing" "getting yelled at" -- yup, most of that post was about doing something she knew to be wrong...
(I'm not so sure she's joking...)

sj is right. And you know people do jerky stuff like that all the time.

BP, if nobody leads you away from this life of crime by offering you flowers,
flowering tree branches are sold at the GAP farmer's market pretty cheap Saturday am.
  • SJ may have been right to chastise BP, but not to twice call her a jerk and once call her "cheapo".

I thought name-calling was verboten on these boards?

We must be caught up in a parallel time shift where things are the same yet strangly different. That is a quote from the OP post.

Please reply to confirm it says the same thing and we are in the same time space continuum.

You're absolutely right about name-calling being against the rules around here, although I found the above to be relatively mild.

    MOD NOTE:
sj, we know you're new. please check out the rules of the site.
You could have said "only jerks steal branches from other people's trees - you don't want to be a jerk, right? Right??"
  • Please let the kangaroo court reach its verdict.

It has heard that the defendant does not wish to take branches for fear of getting yelled at.

Yet, is convinced that she has (or will) engage in this practice.

    Should be banished?
    ...or bought a drink?
  • As it happens, she got yelled at even without taking any branches.

So someone should buy her a drink!

I believe the charge was Conspiracy. There is suspicion we have a recidivist on our hands. The RICO subpoenas are being prepared - you are named, along with your co-conspirators.
    :D
  • BP, you are hereby purchased a drink.

...sorry, I have no budding trees for you.

(and I don't dare mention that I live near the Botantical Garden for fear of being killed by SJ)

Yes, RICO is appropriate because I clearly gain from BP suggesting that she wishes to avoid a behavior and seeking our voluntary assistance.

...she leaves out the part about how her boys will come give a beat down to anyone who does not volunteer their branches.
  • I have budding trees and will give her branches...and buy her a drink....that "jerk" came over today and did all kinds of things for me while I am on crutches....and those things included removing cat poop.
  • do we know why you're on crutches? Have I missed a post?

see rant and raves. A pothole attacked her for being friends with bp.
  • geez, somehow i missed all of this while i was out running errands... for me, for flexi, for another friend with a sprained knee.

i have no intention of cutting anyone's trees, personal or city-owned. i was being facetious. if i had a tree and someone cut off branches i'd be pissed. (i have, in the past, rung doorbells and asked if i could cut a branch or two.)

in fact, had i wanted to do something illegal/immoral like cutting someone else's trees, do you think i'd have posted it here? pretty stupid.

i'll be getting branches and flowers from flexi.

    and a drink from why_not.

and i expect an apology for the new person who called me a jerk.
  • BP: I apologize for misunderstanding your post. It's just that I planted the tree in front of my house when I was 3 and the thought of someone cutting branches off of it apparently makes me misinterpret people's intentions. I would call myself a jerko, but apparently that is against the rules...

Flexi - didn't you just break/hurt your toe a few months back accidentally sliding across a wood floor and hitting the baseboard in your stocking feet?? ;-) Watch out for baseboards and potholes that jump in front of you!
  • Yep, and i also cracked my head on the towel rack. I have never been so clumsy before in my life :(

calling yourself names is always acceptable :D
