my adorable Cat minette needs a (short term) foster home
Hello!
My adorable cat Minette needs a foster home around Carroll Gardens while my boyfriend and I are trying to get him treated for his cat allergies..
She is 4 years old, all white and very affectionate.
It breaks my heart to separate from her for even that long, but my boyfriend needs treatment right now.
I can offer food and litter for the duration of the foster placement.
Please let me know if you would like to meet her!

How long would you be looking for someone to foster her?
-
2 months to begin with, maybe 3....

Sorry, I don't think I can do. My landlord forbids pets but if he found out I was fostering your cat, I could have probably gotten away with having her for about a month. Good luck, though (I miss kitties!).

If your boyfriend is getting allergy shots for cat allergies then it will probably take at least a year (minimum) to notice a difference. I am allergic to cats and am in my 6th month of allergy shots and have not noticed a significant difference. Has he tried Zyrtec (over the counter) or Xyzal (prescription)? They work great for cat allergies. Maybe try keeping your cat out of your bedroom and get an air purifier I think that allergy shots will work but it's not quick fix. I'm not sure what treatment you are trying but you may have to have a foster home longer than you realize. Just a heads up.

Yeah, keeping the cat around might help the most. I have a friend who had (has) bad cat allergies. He and his wife got a cat kind of unexpectedly and he eventually got used to it. If he's away from the cat for a week or two, he has to readjust when he gets home. I think he gets used to the cat when he's around it but the allergy isn't gone.

Agreed. I am fine at home with my cat allergies (I have four) but other cats cause my allergies to flare up.
Howdy, Stranger!
