Medusa Salon
I just wanted to put a good word out for Medusa salon on 7th Ave, particularly Star (I think was his name). I dyed my hair Friday night using a box color that came out pretty crappy, so I wanted to get it fixed by someone who knows what the hell they're doing. I usually go up to The Beehive in W'burg, but didn't feel like making the trek, so I called up Medusa on Sunday. They fit me in that afternoon.
I'd been thinking about going platinum for a while, and Star hooked it up, plus gave me a good cut. He didn't talk my ear off the whole time, although I'm sure that if I had been chattier that would've been ok too. It was a little pricey, but considering that I got a double process dye job and a cut, that's to be expected.
Anyway, I recall in the past there have been threads asking about good places for short haircuts, and also good places for non-soccer mom cuts - I definitely recommend this place. Good cut and color, friendly staff, reasonable prices and good retro vibe.

I've had great experiences at medusa as well (with Mary) I've since switched to a cheaper salon in the city where a friend works, but I would go back to Medusa if I lost my current stylist!

I never cared for them since they don't take credit cards. If I am going to spend that much money on somethng, I am going to use a credit card. It's 2009, there is no reason to not take credit cards. Oh wait, there is ....
