Republican...I mean Conservative Opinion Polls — Brooklynian

Republican...I mean Conservative Opinion Polls

Around a minute ago the following umber showed up on my Caller ID: 800-635-8661. When I picked up a lady asked if me if I was indeed who I am. I said yes. She then asked me if I'd like to take an opinion poll on how BAD President Obabma is doing. I said "How bad...? She replies "...hold on for automated instructions". Me: "...wait! How bad?" "Yes! How bad" she replies, after seemingly to dodge my question. I ask her if this is a Republican group wanting to know, she told me "No, we're conservatives." I said "it's the "same thing , now, fuck yourselves", to which I hung up politely.

There is no moral to this story, I just felt good.

  • In college I took statistics. A whole semester on it. I learned a lot about bad polling practices and biased questions. In the end and to this day, i don't trust any damn statistic, survey or poll that I can't analyze the exact questions asked, and details about each participant.
  • They called me again this morning. They're called Citizen's United, headed by David Fosse.
  • Now Newt Gingrich's cronies called me and asked the same thing. My question is: What do they propose? I get the gist, you believe Obama is a spendthrift and a pinko, but what are the solutions you are offering?
  • Does this have any correlation perhaps to the recent Gallup polls which show the country suddenly reversing its position on the pro-life, pro-choice debate?
  • I believe it's bad mouthing until you start to believe. Hitler said, and I'll paraphrase, that if you keep repeating a lie over and over again, the masses will eventually believe you. My guess is they're waiting for something to happen, like another terrorist attack, so they can say "I told you so". Real Burning the Reichstag stuff.

It's really about the losing party wanting their power back. And if Pro-Choice and Pro-Life happen to be hot topics....then so be it.
