Haifa grocery renovations

I was passing by today and noticed that the space has been completely redone. I never really went in there because it seemed pretty uninviting. Anyone know the scoop?

Really nice people that run it. Has a lot of middle eastern products like falafel mix etc... I just stopped in for the first time after the renovation and its quite nice. You should stop in!

Maybe I should go there for my falafel mix instead of running up to Sahadi's. Thanks for the tip!

I was at Damascus Pita yesterday (a couple of doors closer to Court than Sahadis) and noticed they opened up a big back room that looked to have packaged and canned goods....didn't take a close look tho.

i've been to the back room at damascus (a while back, granted) -- it's fine, but i don't remember seeing anything i couldn't get at sahadis.

their triangular pita, on the other hand...oh my. their babaganoush isn't as good as sahadi's, but together -- yowzahs.

I could eat Middle-Eastern food three meals a day, seven days a week. Nom. Glad that we have an ingredients source in the nabe.

Damascus is the best for baked goods (it is a bakery after all). Their pita and flatbreads are awesome. I've never gotten anything else there though (except for some of their pastries, which are also delicious). I usually get pita from Damascus and everything else at Sahadi's.

^ that is the correct way to do it. once i forgot the baba at sahadi's and tried to cut corners. not as many yowzahs, that's for sure.
