Food donation program in the slope- Give a Can to Feed a Fam
hi there-
I am a volunteer and am starting a new food donation program in Park Slope through CityHarvest (google them) and I hope it's ok that I post this on here. I thought it would be the best way to get participants.
Here is how it works: Got an extra can of food you can spare? I am volunteering for CityHarvest to come and pick it up from your home. It's that simple. Basically, once you email me and let me know if you're interested in participating in the program, I will call you once a week and see if you have anything to donate for the evening. After the cans are collected, CityHarvest delivers them to Food banks, shelters etc. I can give you more info once you email me but that's the gist of it.
The food banks are having a really tough time stocking their shelves right now (there are a lot of hungry people out there these days) & I'm hoping I can get enough people willing to help. If I can get a few people a block to donate even just one can of food it will really add up!
Please email me at [email protected] to find out more. Please pass this on too if you know someone who may be interested.
Thanks!
Lori
