Kids Stores? — Brooklynian

Kids Stores?

prospectus

So many baby shops, so little time... Any thoughts on which shops for tiny people are worth shopping at? Any baby shops that are especially good with stuff for new Dads?

Comments

  • For kids stuff:
If you want some specialty items you can go to Courdory Kid on Vanderbilt and Pieces has also added a children's store.
If you want something less expensive you can check out the stuff at Children's Place in the Atlantic Terminal plus all the stores there have children's clothing.
If the dad is a big Yankee/Met fan you can go to Modells and get them matching team shirts. (I love their cute little socks that look like sneakers)
As for a gift for Dad maybe a nice digital frame or key chain and put some pictures of the baby on there.
  • Lolli on 7th avenue in the Slope is the best kids store in the area.
  • I've kind of been wondering about this, too. The number of nieces and nephews is quickly growing and it would be nice to go to one or two of these shops for more unique stuff than they get in their small towns at chain stores. I don't think I can handle going to them all, so advice is welcome.

I'll have to check out Lolli. Why do you like it, OTB?
  • OQ - I love to buy new babies and little ones an outfit from Melting Pot. Nancy has been there forever and I still have my Melting Pot t-shirt from when I was 10. Melting Pot is on Atlantic between Nevins and Third.

There was a place on Atlantic that had those great baby onesies (I love the one that has the AC/DC but it says AB/CD). I think it was between Bond and Nevins.

Also Century 21 has some great baby and children's clothing that you usually do not see in the bigger chain stores.
  • RE: Lolli.

They just have very cool things for all ages, boys, girls, unisex. Clothes, kid-related items, gifts, whatever. And just a really helpful staff. If I need a gift, that's my go-to place.
