Subject: Day of Service, BBQ, Garden and Arts 'Round Crown Heights

This coming Saturday, June 27th, we're organizing a Day of Service around Crown Heights. The Day of Service consists of a voter registration drive, an afternoon of community gardening, community mural scouting by bike, and an Art Fest and BBQ. Feel free to participate as you please:

* Voter Registration Drive: The voter registration drive runs from 11am - 3pm at the Franklin Flea Market (Franklin Avenue at Sterling Place).

* Community Gardening: From 12pm - 3pm a group of volunteers will be gardening at Weeksville Heritage Center (1698 Bergen St). The gardening session will include a tour of the Hunterfly Road Houses, weeding, compost turning, and maybe even harvesting of mint and radishes.

* Bike for a Cause: Cyclists will help scout out local walls in connection with Team Tish's search for a wall for a new community mural. Cyclists will cover the Crown Heights section of District 35th.

* Art Fest and BBQ: From 1pm - 6pm we are encouraging people to join Crown Heights North Association's Art Fest and BBQ taking place at the Bergen St. Community Garden (Bergen St. & Nostrand Avenue). Day of Service volunteers who register by June 25th will receive 1/2 off the $10 admission to the Art Fest. Proceeds from the Art Fest benefit CHNA's upcoming House Tour.

* Kids Day: We will also be signing up volunteers for About Time Boutique's upcoming Kids Day (July 11th).

This event is done in partnership with About Time Boutique, Crown Heights North Association, Franklin Avenue Flea Market, Brooklyn by Bike and Weeksville Society Heritage Center.
