Central Air Unit Not Cooling House — Brooklynian

Central Air Unit Not Cooling House

I have 2 units- one upstairs and one downstairs-

The upstairs is blowing- I feel the air blowing- the thingamabob outside (can't think of the name) is operating, but no cold air. I did notice that there's no water being pumped out.

I hear its the compressor, but hopefully it's something else. Is there a few other checks I can do before I call the rapis- I mean the HVAC guy?

Thanks!

  • you may need a recharge of freon, how old is the unit?. there's a larger copper pipe that comes out of the outside unit and goes into your house, it should get cold. If it's not getting cold then the blower inside will just be blowing air over a warm tube rather than a cold one and will have the same effect as a fan would, nothing more.

Since it sounds like you have power to both units and they go on when you turn the thermostat on it sounds like the electrical stuff is working properly.
