Cheesy/great Romanian music video!

Okay, I have a deep obsession with Romanian folk videos. This one is, well, kinda indescribable:

  • Thanks for the link!

What a great way to start the day. Infinitely cheerful. Can you recommend any albums (not videos)? Thanks

The group that everyone loves now adays is Taraf de Haïdouks, who are great. I've been listening to Dumbala Dumba for a long time.

I also love Anatol Ștefăneț: Moldavie - L'art du bratsch (alto) - volumes one and two.

I love LOVE Alexander Fedoriouk, and you should check out Crossing Paths, which can be found at http://cdbaby.com/cd/afkm.

If you want to leave Romania and head to Hungary, you can always check out two of my albums:

    and
    http://cdbaby.com/cd/metrofolk

Let's not forget the band by one of Prospect Heights great musicians, Sara Alden: http://www.lumii.org/

And if you're into this stuff, you might also want to check out

I could keep going..... .... ... .. . There are hundred of Hungarian bands I could recommend, as well as Roma music from Romania and Hungary.....
  • Thanks for the many great links. Your band sounds amazing!

I've been listening to Muszikas' Bartok Album and I love Kalman Balogh, which is gypsy msuic so powerful it's almost like rock or punk on speed.

I'm really interested in the Transsylvanian/Moldavan area too, so I'll check out some of those links.
