G train to Church Ave
The signs are up, there's information in the station....G train service to Church Avenue starts July 5th! I'm excited because I can take it to work in Queens without switching from the F.
Plus, there is now direct travel for all hipsters between Park Slope and Williamsburg!
Very excited about this, although I do feel bad for people who will be inconvenienced when Smith-9th Street is out of commission.

Yah, I posted this to the Windsor Terrace thread.....
-
Oops, didn't see it there. Maybe I'll walk down and take a picture of the 7th Avenue station, lol
-
different picture, more appropriate for Park Slope thread
also feel bad for those who take the train from the by-passed stations. I can go to either 7th Ave or 15th St so it is not an issue for me but understand that it could be a pain for one leg of the trip from 15th St or Ft Hamilton Pkwy.
-
what are the by passed station stops?
-
I don't think it skips any stops.

Must research Williamsburg bars....! -
Correct me if I am wrong but for the next 4 years this change on the G line will make it much easier for Park Slope people to get to Williamsburg.
Isn't this a good thing? -
people used to just take the F and transfer.
nothing much has changed.
pretty cool tho -
except not having to wait for a transfer which is a pain in the but.

big time, especially to only go one or two stops. i'm really excited to have a direct route to Park Slope. the pain in the ass to get there has kept me afar for way too long. -
they say it is only going to last 4 years, presumably until the reconstruction of the culver viaduct is completed - but why? Keep it!
though if they extend the V into brooklyn and have an F express that would be nice too. -
According to earlier reports, at some time during the construction process, there would be periods of time where the trains only stop in one direction at stations like 15th St & Ft Hamilton Pkwy because the trains would be using the express track in one direction, but the new reports don't mention that.
