Where were those fireworks from? — Brooklynian

Where were those fireworks from?

From the North Slope, I saw a great fireworks show from near the Statue of Liberty, as well as one on the same sightline as the Manhattan Bridge. Anyone have any idea as to where these might have originated from? The latter seemed too close and easy to see to be the Hudson ones.

  • I wondered about those, too. They ended well before the Hudson show did so I imagine they were something different. Whatever it was I was happy to see them - I'd been bummed about this being my very first July 4 without fireworks...
  • Does anybody know what those fireworks were? My husband is convinced they were Macy's.
  • Some friends who were out in Manhattan watching the fireworks told me that Staten Island had it's own fireworks shortly before the West side ones. They were apparently showy enough that lots of folks cleared out of viewing area to get a better look, thinking they were the Manhattan main event.
  • very interesting.
Another year we were in Sunset Park (in the park) and there were fireworks visible BEFORE the main event.
Friends stopped by on their way home on the 4th. They had been in SP and saw fireworks.
