hey all - i am new to brklyn (originally from long island)

i am looking for cool bars/clubs to hang out this summer

all ideas are welcome!

Depends on what vibe you want - Wicked Monk is a true Irish pub with live music. Skinflints is a local "after sports" joint with killer burgers. Salty Dog is a fun place with screens, screens and some more screens. Just walk down along Fifth or Third Avenue (past 75th Street) and see what crowd appeals to you.

If you want something a little more hip - hit Smith Street or some of the places along 5th Avenue in Park Slope. It's not too bad getting there - $5 to $10 car service.

Thanks Domino! I have been to the Salty Dog. Great place to watch the yankees and kick back with a few beers. They also have a great crowd on sat nights too.
