Does anyone know of any dog parks or meetup groups for dogs?

I want my 4 month old Cocker Spaniel to socialize with other dogs

  • To MY HOUSE!! Oh my the cuteness!

Most parks have off leash hours in the early morning, before 9 AM and usually after 9 PM til the park closes.
  • Cute puppy! More photos and a name, please :-)

    Thank You :D
  • OMG! Sophie is so damn cute! I especially like the pic with the red shirt in the background. She's got a very expressive face.

Where do you live? You can bring her to Prospect Park if that's close enough

    Will do! :D

  • Yay! SP people!! I *try* to take Oscar to Sunset Park on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We usually get there about 8 or a little before (an hour is all the old boy can take for the most part). There are quite a few regulars there and they're all pretty nice people. PM me if you'd like to meet up one morning!

This is my very tiny puppy:

  • There's a small (half-assed) fenced area that might be a good spot to work on her recall off leash. It's on the 5th Ave/43rd St. side of the park. Most of the dog owners use the large open field in the middle of the park so she wouldn't have too many distractions.

hmm I will look in to it , I live in 52nd st Betwenn 3rd and 4th
  • There's also an actual dog run at Owl's Head park - 68th and Narrows. The dog run is on Shore Road at 68th St. Sophie looks little enough for a subway ride so it wouldn't be too bad a walk for her.
  • Also if yu want to make the trek the dogrun on 4th st and 5th ave in park slope is where Bruno and I are often spotted! Hes 6 mos old and looooooovvvessssss other puppies

    Will Check out too..Thanks! :D
  • Oscar has this brooklyn charm.. i dunno.

    Congrats on the pup jen.
  • Rocco and I go to Shore and 68th where we play with Pickles, Emma, Madison, Scarlet and a whole bunch of other bebes. The dog run on 7th Ave is too far and the humans not so nice. One jerk had a half wolf that was sick running loose.
  • Is that the Asian guy? I remember there was an Asian guy with a husky (?) mix who was totally vicious and he took him to the park constantly. I think at some point, someone even posted a sign with is picture at Owl's Head.
  • THAT'S HIM!!!! It was a wolf hybrid that was just nasty and had a bad case of worms.

Sounds like he's making the dog park rounds. What a jerk off. I feel sorry for the poor dog.
  • aaauuuuugggghhhhhhh!!!!! the cute! i am swooning from the cute! if anyone wants their puppy to socialize with a kitty, you can bring it to me. i had a dog when i first got my cat, and she made friends with the pooch before she wanted anything to do with me. we will both be very nice to sophie, and maybe we'll even let you have her back.
  • So adorable. Have fun with your puppy!

When do you guys usually there?
  • You can can get into Manhattan, I run a free puppy playgroup every Monday at the Tribeca location of Biscuits & Bath. I also teach some seminars in Sunset Park that you and your puppy would be welcome to attend. Feel free to pm me for more info. PS: Your puppy's a doll!!
  • That was supposed to be "IF you can get into Manhattan..."
  • We try to be there (provided sleepyhead has some co-operation motivation) as early as possible - around 6-7AM. Last romp is right around 5pm. We try to go around Owls Head a few times just to burn off some energy first so he is not totally bonkers with the other bebes.
