Excellent Brunch at General Greene Restaurant — Brooklynian

Excellent Brunch at General Greene Restaurant

We had a family gathering this past Saturday to welcome the newest addition to the family and we met at The General Greene Restaurant on the cornor of DeKalb and Clermont in Ft. Greene. They gave us the back room to use since there were 11 of us and it was wonderful.
The waitress and staff were totally on top of everything and the brunch menu was really unique. Lotsa chorizo and veggie offerings. A mix of unusual ingredients absolutely delicious, and very reasonable. The specials were all $7.50 and more than enough food to leave you satisfied.

I have really come to love Ft.Greene. What a great neighborhood.

  • They must have changed the brunch menu because last time I went everything substantial was way too expensive, portions were tiny, and the $9 cocktail specials were served in 6 oz mason jars. I vowed never to go back (for brunch in particular) despite the fact that they have great outdoor seating and are across teh street from my place. I MIGHT try it again.
  • Subject: General Greene

We didn't get any cocktails and I think the regular menu was about $12-maybe $17 each. Plenty of food on each plate. I think the whole meal cost $170 for 11 people with the tip included. Not everyone went with the specials either.
  • I went for brunch back in early July and had a terrible experience. The food was awful and overpriced and the staff was surly and dismissive. I also vowed never to go back and have discouraged my friends in the area from eating there.
