what time do block parties start?

my neighbor told me today that a party is planned for my block this coming saturday. thing is, i'm supposed to be moving out on saturday.

can anyone tell me what time they usually block off streets for this kind of thing?

If there are kids involved the streets are likely to get blocked off by 9 or 10 am. Ours was from 9am-8pm.

My experience on a couple different blocks is that they block the street off pretty early, like 9 am.

But maybe you can talk to your neighbors and they'll let you drive & park the moving truck onto the street.
