Cat Found in Backyard
I believe there is a cat living in the yard behind my building. I've seen him there twice in as many weeks. Not sure if he's lost/abandoned or feral, though to me he looks pretty well fed. The backyard is exclusive to my downstairs neighbors, so I haven't gotten any closer than my second floor window. Any advice?

There are many ferals being fed and living in colonies. They cross from yard to yard (as one of mine does). Unless you are interested in Trapping, Neutering and Releasing (TNR) the cat back into it's same enviroment. I'd say leave it alone, he's well feed, so someone is taking care of him. He might already be neutered.
If you think he might be a lost pet, I'd take pictures if possible and post flies around the nabe and on craigslist. Of course you can take the cat in, with help from your the garden apt tenant. If it is feral you'll find out pretty quickly!
