Workers Comp Attorney

Does anybody know a good one? The one I am dealing with doesn't seem to have the bandwidth to do any followup and I'm ready to drop him.

BK or lower Manhattan preferred.

Jan Gellis 137 Fifth Ave, NY 212 460 5757. Smart and honest. Actually enjoys being a lawyer. Have used him in real estate because he's a good negotiator, but most of his work is in Workman's Comp.
Good luck with that. I here it's an absolute nightmare.

thanks, Modsquad. It totally sucks. Insurance doesn't do anything until you basically force them. Once they know you have an atty, they don't want to talk to you. If your atty doesn't follow up, you are then stuck chasing down the atty....meanwhile, it slows down healing because you have to get authorization for tests, etc.

I called and spoke with Jan - he said he doesn't do that kind of work.

I found my attorney by going to the New York State Bar Association.
There was a $35 fee, and the end result was that I found a really nice attorney to work with. Sorry, I don't think he does WorkComp...
