new bagel place coming to Washington

So this morning i walked by a storefront on Washington between Bergen and Dean and there is a little laminated sign saying "Washington Bagel Cafe Coming soon". It's going to be right next to the International Car Service. And right up from the TINY new little natural foods store.

Considering how good Bergen Bagels is -- they'd better be ready.

do you mean the "natural foods store" or is there actually something new there?

They are having a soft opening today. I went in and bought a coke, there really wasn't much there. They said their Grand Opening is on Monday.

Also, there is a sign on a storefront on Washington btwn bergen and st marks, right across from the new condos and next to the auto place that says a new cafe/pizza place is coming soon. It looks like Washington ave is really picking up, let's hope the quality of these places is good.

stopped in today because I haven't gone food shopping in forever and I'm out of any discernibly edible items. They're still clearly working things out. There were two people working there, one woman in the front who took my order and my money, and one woman in the back who took my order and made me a bagel. She didn't seem to know her bagels well at all--I ordered a sesame seed and she went for a poppy and asked "is this it?" and then caveated it with, "I'm still learning"--but she wrapped it up OK. The bagel itself was...eh...but it was cheap ($1 flat) and it met the need. Maybe things will improve with time.

I stopped in late tonight because I felt like a bagel for dinner. They were out, but I had a nice conversation with Manuel, he told me they open at 5am, and will definitely have bagels then! I hope so much they are great bagels.
