SAT Tutor - great results, special summer discount!
Hi folks - I’m a long-time Park Slope / Prospect Heights resident (Flatbush is right down the street so I’m ambidextrous), posting here about my Brooklyn-based tutorial service:
I have over seven years’ experience as a teacher, working with individuals, small groups, and classrooms of up to 22, with students aged 15 to 19. I have trained professionally at Kaplan Test Prep as an SAT and GRE Instructor and at the University of Iowa as a Rhetoric Instructor. My one-on-one and small group tutorials are designed with two main goals in mind: 1) Find innovative ways to make the lessons stick in order to give students “ownership†of the material; and 2) Improve the student’s core math and verbal skills while maximizing their SAT skills. I never work with more than 15 students at a time, which gives me the time and space to think about each student and exactly how I can teach and motivate him/her.
I charge an hourly rate of $100 and apply a sliding scale based on household income. I’m also offering special summer rates from June 1 to September 1 of $60 which will slide down to $30 for household incomes below $75,000. Before we get started, I conduct a free comprehensive diagnostic assessment (based on a full-length practice test) in case parents aren’t sure whether their child needs tutoring or want to understand better their child’s strengths and weaknesses for this particular test.
For more information, please see my website: www.sterlingtestprep.com, e-mail me at [email protected], or call me at (917) 202-2893.
Cheers,
Steve
