Historic Trolley Tours at Green-Wood Every Wednesday-1pm — Brooklynian

Historic Trolley Tours at Green-Wood Every Wednesday-1pm

As Green-Wood Cemetery continues to gain popularity as a destination for history, art and nature enthusiasts, Richard J. Moylan, cemetery president, announced that a new weekday tour has been added to the schedule. The Green-Wood Historic Fund, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, currently offers an exciting array of weekend educational events including walking and trolley tours, book talks and signings, and performances. The new weekday tours will take place on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m., starting on August 12th.

Located on 478 bucolic acres, this 171-year-old cemetery is home to more than 560,000 “permanent residents” including Civil War generals – North and South, early baseball legends, politicians, artists, actors, and inventors. Green-Wood offers some of the finest examples of 19th and 20th century sculpture, rare bird life, and a ground-breaking preservation program called Saved in Time.

Admission for the Wednesday tours is $15 per person and includes both a trolley and walking portion. Tours will run about 2 hours. Reservations can be made on our website, but are not necessary.
