Why isn't the bar/lounge 95 South mixed??
Subject: Why isn't the bar/lounge 95 South mixed??
Why isn't 95 South on Franklin more mixed? They have amazing music and you can dance. Its right around the corner from Franklin Park which I think is also great, and Franklin Park always has a mixed crowd, but 95 South has a mostly black crowd. And has nothing to do with the crowd there being unwelcoming, because the one time I ever saw it was the night Obama was elected, and a large group of white paraders went into 95 S to watch the election on the giant tvs and the regular crowd there was friendly and everyone was dancing together and having a ball.
It sucks that while so black local neighbors will go to a mostly white or mixed bar but so many white newer residents are unwilling to patronize black owned businesses.
I know some of us are, "I'm not racist; my best friend is black," pc liberals, but maybe we can find a way to be a bit more open minded and willing to end the segregation that still exists. It's almost 2010!
