I need a new place to live.

Hey everyone, I need some help! Anything would be greatly appreciated... I currently rent in Bay Ridge brooklyn, and HAVE realized renting is a waste of money. I have some cash ready for a down payment on a condo/coop, but can't seem to find anything within budget. My max price is around $250,000, and I definitely can't go higher than that (I wont be able to afford the monthly). The thing is - I need a SAFE place. The apartment is for my fiance and I, and I'm a small, 5ft girl. I can't go walking to an apartment in BedStuy!


We're great with renovating, so anything a little run down with a nice price tag is perfect, but I'm worried about board approval and so on in coop units, and I don't want the headaches of a bad building when I'm trying to sell in a few years.

My currentl landlord told me I wasn't paying for hot water but I found out I am, and when I flush the toilet, the toilet water comes up from the shwoer drain. We've got to get out of here! Help!
