Fishers Supermarket - they have a twitter. Why? — Brooklynian

Fishers Supermarket - they have a twitter. Why?

It's on Franklin Ave and Lincoln Pl. "fishersnyc" is their username.

Some really fascinating material. Makes me totaaaaally want to shop there.

Examples:
"I just caught some crack head stealing. I would have fucked him up but he was fucked up looking."

"Hey kids. Yesterday I cought some crackhead stealing cheese I'm going to put the vid on YouTube when I get a chance."

"More hot girls shopping in the store today."

  • Tony is kind of awesome.
  • There are hardly any practical uses for Twitter. MTA updates I like. Baker Tweet is cool. Other than that its mostly just narcissism.
  • A grocer trying to reach out to the customer base is good...even if it is Fishter. He and his brothers are a good part of Franklin Ave. Yes they think all should pay gold for the basics but it's better than another bodega. Hurry up with the coffe and remod. You better have sugar at the coffee shack, cupcakes or ice cream and some hours, none of your normal 7,8 bullshit. Coffee and grocery have different hours don't make people jones for a cup or cone at 8pm on a Friday.
  • Hahahaha. That is made of awesome. And yes, I like Tony - he is always, always nice to me. His prices are ridiculous but when I shop there it's for the convenience.

As far as twitter goes, yes it is silly, but damn, its funny too. At least I think so, he speaks his mind.

Also looking forward to the coffee!
  • OMG. I never thought that having a Twitter account was a big deal. I thought it good be a means where shoppers can reach out with any question, concerns or what ever. And ok maybe i am turning it into my digital playground SO WHAT there are other things going on. Anyways isnt that what Twitter is about. Wow the things that get people worked up!

Probably the thought of what prospectheightsyo's twitter feed would look like!
  • LOL this is hilarious
  • wow, he is cray cray.
  • "More hot girls shopping in the store today."
    LOL
  • i am now following ... they have twitter sales (where they post an item on discount on twitter and if you mention the tweet at the store you get it for that price) AND they are offering twitter delivery - where you can PM your needs and they'll bring it to you.
it reminds me of undergrad where i could order cases/kegs of beer over the phone or online and have them delivered to my apartment.
  • Thats right. We offer the first of its kind delivery service via twitter. Just go on
www.twitter.com/Fishersnyc send me a pm with your address and shopping list. And we will rush it over for you. For the time we are offering this service zip codes 11238 and 11225. We will even deliver to prospectheightsyo. Maybe soon we will do it city wide.........

  • Tony, seriously, never take message board's that seriously.. I think the general consensus is that your twitter feed is funny and also useful according to xlizellx. It's 'social media' you're using it just like everyone else I've seen. Speak you mind, it's twitter :D
  • Twitter works out well, it limits how many stupid hot chick crack head things you can write in one post. This coffee better be really....ing good. That new gate looks sweet. Go check to see if that big....ing hole next to the coffee shop is full of rain water. I hope some swans migrate from Prospect Park to the Fisher Fish pond. The plywood gives it that Gaza hommie look that everybody loves. New nickname will be Drink Dump.

I don't know where this store is, but I think that's a great way to use Twitter.
