Is there anywhere in the Slope or near by to drop off canned good, and boxed food items?

Thanks!

  • CHIPS on 4th Ave at Sackett gets damaged stuff from the Food Co-op, so they probably accept sealed goods. Church/community food drives might be later in the year...
  • Subject: church on 16th st.

The church on 16th st between 4th and 5th (the one that also houses the Brooklyn Free School) had a sign saying they are looking for donated canned and dry goods.

On the topic of donating fresh food....

The Greenwood Heights CSA has been looking for options for donating left over produce after distribution on saturday mornings. Anybody have suggestions?

Is it enough for a City Harvest pickup? Also CHIPS (it's a soup kitchen) might be interested -- they accept fresh food from the PSFC. Likely there's another soup kitchen that could use it a little closer to you tho.
  • CHIPS on 4th Avenue near Sackett Street and both St. Augustine's and St. Francis Xavier on 6th Avenue have food pantries.
  • Thanks for the ideas! I have a large box to donate.

Hi! I'm with Bed Stuy Food Not Bombs and we might be able to schedule a pick up for Saturdays - you could email [email protected] with the location and time- we currently pick up from three different CSAs in Brooklyn.
    Thanks!
