Ok, what's the deal with the All Star Bodega on Underhill / Prospect?

Fer cryin' out loud I have more beer in my fridge!

Also, they have two employees, one guy behind the counter and the other that hangs out on the corner. I'm no MBA, but I don't know how they make their money.

Should I state the first thing that comes into my head?

naaaaah.

  • I've bought butter and dog food there. When you say you have more beer, do you mean "civilized" beer, I'm sure they have a great 40oz selection.

What do you think they're selling? Do you know if they deliver?
  • No, I mean half of the fridges are usually empty.

It's sad when you can't even get a sixer together.

For all I know they may be on their last legs.
  • It's definitely shady. I used to go there occassionally for a scratch-n-win lottery ticket, but they don't seem to have the full selection, which seems really odd to me. There do seem to be a lot of people who go there to play lotto. I'm not sure how well being a lotto dealer pays.
  • My favorite thing in there are those shady coconut candies at the counter. I am probably risking my life eating one but who cares.....

I don't think they do the lottery anymore.

The best is when you try and pay with a $20.00, the guy behind the counter goes wild. Try and bring singles!

    quig-

you thinking that's because most of their transactions are in $20 increments?

  • btw, am i the only one who finds the "idea" emoticon obscene? or am i just twisted?

  • Now no one enjoys a good 40 or double-deuce more than me, but that second part, that's just wrong...

    I'm shocked. Shocked!
    and embarassed
  • <Hands up> I dunno, I'm just a man with a question</Hands up>

ive got an idea fer ya...
  • Definitely sketchville. We once bought an onion there (cooking on Sunday, Met was closed, etc.) and it was rotten. My husband actually took it back to the bodega to complain :P and they seemed pretty blase about it. I don't think that selling food is their primary business.
