Naidre's Cafe, a neighborhood favorite for almost a decade, is hiring two full-time (5 shifts) grill persons/short order cooks (for our Park Slope and Carroll Gardens locations). This is an immediate hire, so please only apply if you are available to work now. Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.

We are looking for cooks committed to excellence in food preparation and presentation, with a high attention to detail. Duties include preparation of sandwiches, entrees, soups, baked goods and breakfast items, creation of daily lunch/dinner specials and new dishes to keep our menu fresh and interesting. We also have a large variety of vegetarian and vegan menu items, so knowledge of healthy vegetarian options are a plus. Naidre's has a 9 year reputation for excellence, and our food goes well above and beyond typical cafe fare.

Must be versatile in the kitchen, basic knowledge of baking (muffins, basic cakes, cookies), be self-motivated, able to learn the menu quickly, work FAST, and be completely OCD about keeping the kitchen immaculately clean. Candidates must be enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, and be willing to pitch in wherever help is needed. A great sense of humor is a big plus.

Shifts are varied, and may cross over between our 2 locations. Weekends are inevitable, so please not apply if you can’t work weekends, or if there are any limitations or restrictions on the days or hours you can work. Ideally, candidates should live in the vicinity of Park Slope/Carroll Gardens, or have a relatively short commute.

We offer a progressive and diverse work environment. A Food Protection Course certification from the Dept of Health is required to work in our kitchen. We are looking for the perfect chef/kitchen manager to join our team, and there is a rapid growth/management opportunity for the right person.
