anyone know of a good appliance repair person? My dryer stopped heating up.

  • I suggest doing a quick internet search and see if you can correct the issue yourself. Often times no heat means there is a build-up of lint in the duct work behind the dryer or kinks in the dryer duct can also cause those issues.

Try pulling the dryer out and see if you can pull the duct out of the back and look for any buildup, or make the line as straight as possible.
  • if that doesn't work, search for recent threads on appliance repair companies... there have been a few quite recently, with several companies recommended.
  • There's a new appliance repair store on Prospect Ave and 6th ave if you cannot fix it yourself.
  • I used Accurate Appliance which I found on this board and they were
on time, and reasonable with price. I would use them again.
    Their # 718 236 7718.
I can't say I remember who had posted about them but I was glad I
took the chance and used them.
  • If your dyer is an electric one, make sure no breakers have been thrown.

A 220V dryer will still turn, but not heat, if one of the two breakers is blown. (220V appliances often use two breakers)
  • Brilliant, Bradeward! It was the duct. Thanks so much for your help and saving me loads of bucks!
  • Len's Appliance.
