Recommendations for Clinton Hill-area computer repair?

So, two days ago, my Microsof Outlook started running PAINFULLY SLOW. It takes an hour to do anything. At all.

Every other bit of software works fine, and Outlook still runs slow even if it's in safe mode, so something weird is going on.

Can anyone recommend a good computer repair person in the area? I will even bring the computer TO them (it's a laptop, so I can do that). I have tried a few things and definitely need another set of eyes looking at it.

  • I had a good experience with Mikey's Hook Up in Dumbo..
  • Did you try to:
    - scan your computer for virus and malware?
    - defragment your disks?
  • A delayed follow-up:

Yes, I'd already tried to scan for viruses and malware, I defragged TWICE, and even cleaned out a lot of old email.

Mikey's Hookup appeared to deal only with Macs, and I had a PC.

But I finally found out what the problem was -- the latest version of iTunes has a plug-in that forces itself into Outlook. It's meant to let people who have iPhones sync Outlook with their iPhone more easily -- but if you don't have an iPhone (like me), it just crashes Outlook. And this plugin gets...plugged in EVERY TIME you turn on iTunes, even if you go into Outlook and remove it every time (it just puts it back). And it doesn't ask you first, it just does it.

I uninstalled iTunes and set up a new email profile, and it's working perfectly now. So that was the problem.
