Help us find Ray the Dog — Brooklynian

Help us find Ray the Dog

On Monday October 12, Ray, a SUPER friendly mostly Setter / Shepard mix, got out of his home near FG Park and disappeared. His owner, Gil, suspects he would have gone directly to FG Park but he could have gone anywhere.

Ray is about 7 years old but looks and behaves a lot younger. He's skinny and mainly black with a little gray or white on the longer hair on his legs and underside. He's extremely friendly and will respond to his name. Gil says he will probably respond to a whistle also. Ray is an appealing dog and we hope someone picked him up rapidly.

If anyone sees Ray, sees a poster about a found dog or has any clues, please contact Gil Gilbert 917 701 2727 or email Maya at [email protected] If you're visiting your vet, please ask them too.

The NYTimes blog "The Local" featured a notice today and has a picture of Ray too. http://fort-greene.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/13/wheres-ray/

Thanks so much,

A Dog lover

  • oh, go home, Ray!

Please contact FIDO and post on their lost pets section. They have a large network of dog lovers/owners who will keep an eye out for him

  • Thanks! I will do so. What a great resource.
  • Yes, post to Fido. I saw several dogs at off-leash in Prospect Park today that looked similar to this guy. Don't know if they were all with owners or finders.

I'll keep my eyes open tomorrow.
  • They found Ray! I must say Fido really kicked in too - some of my "dog" friends even got recorded calls. It was amazing.

I think they finally found him from posters they put up yesterday.

    Thanks everybody.
  • Yes! Good news.

Thanks for the update. Ray needs a big lecture (followed by keeeeeses)
