Beware of RT Windows and Glass Installation (formerly Park Slope Glass & Windows) at 182 4th Ave. Do not do business with Anthony Ilardi (of Brooklyn) or Vincent Brini (Renewit Window, Connecticut). Photos and more names here:

They are crooks. They installed the wrong-sized windows, caused damage, promised to fix claiming they were reordering the right size, then disappeared with my money. This is not the first time they've pulled this scam.

I deal with Mega Glass on 5th Ave by Dean or Window Palace on McDonald Ave by Ave. C. Some advice to anyone hiring any type of contractor. Check the blogs, check with NYC Consumer Affairs and see if they're licensed and insured (especially Workman's Comp) and see if they have complaints with the Better Business Bureau.

Dr. J that truly sucks.

I also used LWP for my home and found them to be a bit higher priced that the norm - but very happy with the work and quality.

I used Bay Ridge Windows & Doors (78th & 5th?) for my mom and was EXTREMELY happy with the prices and quality of work. They went out of their way to make sure she was comfy and secure while they did the installation and cleaned up VERY thoroughly afterwards.

Holy crap that thread was amazing to read. I have no idea how they stay in business. If I sucked that bad, and people were talking that much trash, I would pack up and bury my head in the sand. The thread was viewed more than 9,000 times! its a wonder how they stay in business.
