The Lightroom 3 Beta has been announced and is available for free download.

Lightroom is image editing and library management software aimed at photographers - think of it as Photoshop, but with none of the confusing stuff that you'd never use. The beta is expected to have a bug here or there, but that's what betas are for... The beta is valid and functional through April 2010, so you can at least make all of those holiday photos pop.
