Loose dog spotted in park on Halloween
On Halloween, on the way to the scary walk area we were walking on the path that leads from the ball fields and the lake past the waterfall to the big meadow and saw a big black dog that looked like it could be a Rottweiler - - loose, no collar, very stoic and didn't look scared, just stared at us. We snapped his picture, which you can find on my Park Slope Facebook Page - - or you can e - mail me at [email protected] if you want me to send you his photo.
He was behind the fence and we wouldn't be able to grab him if we wanted to, but we reported him to park workers who said they had been told about him, and we showed them the photo.
I am fearful that the dog was abandoned since no one had reported him missing to the park workers who were all over the place that day.
I am wondering if any one else saw this dog, and if they heard anything about him or if he is still in the park.
Thanks.

I do not know how to insert an image or I would post the photo of the dog.

Please also post to Fido Brooklyn. They have a huge network of dog owners and have reconnected many lost/found pets

Not sure if it's the same one, but I know that for months now, people have been spotting some "dumped" (this is a guess) dog(s). I've heard rottie, mastiff and cane corso for the breed but most weren't close enough to tell.
Could be one of these. Just from the food trash people leave out, there's plenty for a stray to eat in the park and so much more if it can hunt. -
What a shock. Hundreds of dogs are loose in Prospect Park every day.
