  • Lame how they didn't even mention the name of the site. And how they apparently don't know the difference between a blog and a message board.
  • ...."journalists"
  • I love the way the journalist refers to the Franklin Avenue commercial strip as "lackluster". And then goes on to say how horrible it used to be. So if it's lackluster now, what did it used to be like? Frightening and horrid? At least that has a little interest to it. Lackluster suggests blah, and I would hardly describe the recent developments on Franklin as blah. As usual, the Times Manhattan centric view shines through.
Ah, whatever ever happened to the Brooklyn Eagle. We need our own newspaper of record, damn it.

Agreed! If anything, that article was "lackluster". Failed to describe the 2 businesses in any sort of interesting detail, nor did it mention the other businesses that have recently opened up on that stretch of Franklin Ave. An outsider would not gain much insight from this article, just as the writer seems to have gained minimal insight into the neighborhood.
  • This article was so terrible. Seriously terrible.
I went into Pulp and Bean today and talked to Tony for a bit and on my way out he told me that they now take credit/debit cards at the coffee shop. I usually don't stop on my way to work because i never remember cash so i am quite happy about this!
  • Crappy piece of too-typical pedestrian journalism, but it still makes me glad I don't frequent either place and opt instead for a $1 large black coffee from the Yemeni bodega on the corner...
