anyone know ms. lena fang and want to let her know she's looney tunes if she's thinks she's getting 10k for that dump of a storefront. it's been sitting empty for how long now...nearly 2 years...?

*********

"On Flatbush Ave. in Park Slope, Royal Video moved out of the space it had occupied for 20 years when landlord Lena Fang jacked up the rent two years ago.

"It was just too much," said owner Michael Gidiuli. "It didn't make sense for us anymore."

Royal Video has settled into smaller digs a few blocks down Flatbush, but its old space still stands vacant.

A source said Fang, who could not be reached for comment, is demanding $10,000 for the space and won't let it go for less."

  • And that's down from about $14,000 a year ago, according to a friend who inquired at the time. The place needs a lot of work too.
  • Isn't she also the owner of Mei Chi?
  • The royal video storefront is big enough to hold both a bank AND a realty office, both of which are grievously under-represented in the area. I wonder how long it's going to take for something to move into the Blockbuster space.

I dunno, personally I think we are in dire need of a cell phone joint.

guys, don't be so selfish. some of us are wondering if this area will EVER get a nail salon.

    Y.
  • It's also "Lina" not "Lena".
  • She's the landlord of Sharlene's too. Among others.
  • "We asked them to compromise," said Kyung Dong Oh, who gathered more than 1,000 signatures from customers to try to save the store, and offered to pay up to $5,000. "He said no, [that] many people are waiting on the line to get a $6,500 lease."
