  • Rumors are that it's going to be some type of restaurant. I'll ask the guys working one of these days soon, for some specifics. Come to think of it I briefly spoke with the owner of glass shop a few minutes ago... he might know something, i'll ask tomorrow.
  • pizza joint
  • ^^^ yeah, I was going to post that yesterday - you can see the ovens through the window.
  • i've heard production bakery (most likely without retail component, though perhaps a small one).
  • I was unfortunate enough to work at a pizzeria all through high school - those ovens are most certainly gas-fired, stone bottom pizza ovens... now stop trying to crush my dreams of a great pizza place and a great Mexican place on Classon! :D
  • No pizza.
    Production bakery.
    No retail.

    pizza one day I hope.
  • :? Sooooo... where was this intel from? Or are you the proprietor? And how do those spankin' new pizza ovens figure in to the bakery rumor?

I just asked the people I saw working there.
  • ^^^ were they the owners?
  • yep.
you should just walk over and ask
  • Just found out it's going to be a nail salon. Those ovens are for drying your fingers and toes after a fab color is applied. It could also be the new and improved location for Spice is right
  • Yes, it's going to be a production bakery for some folks from Fort Greene restaurant No. 7, who are opening up a sub shop in Manhattan's Ace Hotel. They may eventually expand into retail, but that's not in the foreseeable future.

No. 7 is a hot "Trendy" place of the moment. Could they be thinking of moving into the hood? First Baltazar's bread at Breuklyn cafe and now this?
  • They're not really that far away, anyway—just on the other side of Atlantic Avenue in Fort Greene.
  • Looked at No.7 website and I welcome any food that looks like that. Glass Shop has good coffee and food that is made fresh,Breuklyn has baggettes and doesn't go crazy with the high end pastry selection Best Latte . Pulp and Bean has a good cup and has good bagel selection and added soups that seem to be handmade. Who knows maybe having bread baked in the hood will allow another existing place to retail their products. I still hoped for pizza. Lucali/SBrooklyn/Laso type
